Chiropractic Tops National Survey of Back and Neck Pain Treatment
According to results of a random household telephone survey of more than 2,000 individuals reporting back or neck pain in the last 12 months, 37 percent visited a conventional provider (medical doctor/physical therapist) and 54 percent had visited an alternative type provider (chiropractor/massage therapist). Chiropractic was the most commonly sought treatment with 20 percent of these patients seeking chiropractic care. Moreover, chiropractic was rated as very helpful by 61 percent of patients as compared with 27 percent for those visiting a conventional provider (medical doctor/physical therapist).

Chiropractic Management of Children with Low Back Pain
According to previous studies, low back pain occurs in 50 percent of all children at some point in their childhood life with almost 15 percent experiencing frequent or continual pain. In order to determine the effectiveness of chiropractic care, researchers reviewed data provided from 15 chiropractors in 54 consecutive pediatric patients with low back pain. The children were managed with chiropractic adjustments (highly safe and specific forces applied to a patients spine). According to researchers, the children responded favorably to chiropractic management, and there were no reported complications.

Appreciate your Doctor of Chiropractic
Did you know chiropractors are in a high-risk group for low back disorders. Ironically, low back problems are the most common conditions chiropractors treat. While providing patient care, chiropractors can place a great deal of stress on their back and spine. So next time you see your chiropractor working hard to get and keep you well, give them a friendly pat on the back
they deserve it!

Michigan Governor sets a precedent for Patient Protection
The state of Michigan recently and wisely passed the Turf Bill in an effort to make sure only doctors of chiropractic provide chiropractic adjustments/manipulations and similar chiropractic services. This new bill helps protect patient safety and ensure precise and highly skilled chiropractic procedures will only be delivered by trained professionals
doctors of chiropractic.
